Public Relations Purpose
Farm Credit Services of
Western Arkansas Legislative & Public Relations Committee will:
·
Emphasize and support the mission of Farm Credit Services of
Western Arkansas in "maximizing our customers' financial success".
·
Is an advocate for Farm Credit Services of Western Arkansas
members and agricultural producers in the territory served.
·
Be focused on the interests and needs of FCS members.
·
Support agricultural events and agricultural causes at the
local, regional, state and national level
deemed in the best interest of Farm Credit members and agricultural
producers in the territory served.
·
Be committed to legislative support and/or involvement at both
the State and Federal level.
·
Other duties to promote Farm Credit Services of Western
Arkansas as required or assigned.
Committee Structure:
Membership: The Committee shall be
comprised of no less than three (3) and no more than six (6) members of the
board. The Chairman of the Board shall be a member of the committee as
available.
Appointment: The Chairman of the
Board will appoint committee members. Changes in
membership on the committee will be reviewed by the board chairman as a
part to the annual re-organization for the Board.
Leadership: Committee members shall review committee leadership annually and
determine who will serve as chairman.
Quorum: A majority of members. Meeting Schedule:

The Committee will generally meet quarterly or at any such
time as determined necessary by the Chairman of the Committee.
·
Committee members will determine date and timing of the
meetings for the coming year during their annual reorganization meetings.
·
Meetings may be called to address issues assigned by the
Chairman of the Board.
Key Duties:
Make recommendations to the full
Board of Directors regarding the following:
·
Legislative activities at State and Federal Level that support the
future of agriculture and the success of the Farm Credit System.
·
Legislative support via the Farm Credit Council, the Farm Credit
PAC, and the Farm Credit Foundation.
·
Seek effective representation through coalitions and consensus
building between all those having a stake in agriculture production.
·
Focus on issues directly affecting Farm Credit Services and/or the
member customers who borrow from us.
·
Participate in Farm Credit Services of Western Arkansas Advisory
Committees as available.
·
Media relations as needed and/or solicited.
·
Working with members of the Arkansas Department of Agriculture and
Board.
·
Farm Credit Political Action Committee and initiatives.
·
Farm Credit System initiatives i.e. Horizons Project.
·
Young Beginning and Small Farmer issues and programs.
·
Customer Satisfaction Issues.
·
Building and enhancing relationships with Arkansas commodity
groups and agricultural related agencies and businesses.
·
Other duties to promote Farm Credit Services of Western Arkansas
as required or assigned.
Resources:
·
The Chief Executive Officer and other association management are
available as requested.
·
Association Corporate Counsel, as needed.
·
Outside consultants are available as requested.
