Established in 1997, the Farm Credit Services of Western Arkansas
Scholarship Program is designed to encourage and support higher education for
dependents of our member-borrowers. This provides children of a borrower the
opportunity to earn a scholarship to the college or university of their choice.
The scholarship program awards 20- $500 scholarships annually to
graduating high school seniors, as well as current college students.
These Farm Credit scholarships are open to Farm Credit member/borrowers, and
dependants of member-borrowers, who plan to be enrolled full-time (12
credit hours, or equivalent) at an accredited university, college, community
college, junior college or technical school during the fall semester. The scholarship panel
looks at multiple factors when determining scholarship awards, including:
1) Academic Performance, (GPA, class rank, and ACT or SAT scores)
2) education/vocational goals
3) Extracurricular activities
4) Essay
5) Financial need, if stated
Applications for the 2008 Scholarship Awards will be accepted after January 1, 2008 through
