Every Buck Counts: 2025 Patronage Open House Recap
This year, we were proud to celebrate another successful year with our members by sharing a record-breaking $12 million in patronage! Since 1997, we’ve returned more than $186 million to our cooperative members, and 2025 was no exception. As a cooperative, we share our success by giving back to those who make it all possible—our members.
A Special Thank You to Our Members
Patronage open houses are one of our favorite events of the year. They give us a chance to say thank you in person, hand out patronage checks, and connect with the people who make Farm Credit of Western Arkansas what it is today. This year’s theme, Every Buck Counts, was a great reminder that patronage is a big part of what sets Farm Credit apart from traditional lenders. It’s our way of sharing our success with those who help make it happen.

While winter weather disrupted some events, we made sure every member who qualified for patronage still received their check in the mail if they couldn’t make it in person. Whether you stopped by a patronage open house or received your check by mail, we are grateful for your continued trust in Farm Credit.
We hope you enjoy your patronage check—it’s just one of the many benefits of being part of our cooperative. Thank you for another great year!

Frequently Asked Questions
What is patronage?
Patronage is how a cooperative shares a portion of its profits with members. In 2025, Farm Credit of Western Arkansas is returning $12 million in patronage cash.
Why does Farm Credit of Western Arkansas pay patronage?
As a cooperative, our net earnings are either returned to members through patronage or retained for future growth. When you take out a loan with us, you become a member of our cooperative and may be eligible for patronage benefits.
How much patronage do members receive?
The amount is based on the interest income from the previous calendar year. Patronage checks should be cashed within 90 days of the issue date. Members can pick up their check at a patronage open house, or it will be mailed to them.
Is patronage taxable?
Yes, patronage is taxable income. Members will receive a Form 1099-PATR each year showing the amount of patronage paid to them during the previous year. Patronage is based on eligible loan volume and financial results. Past distributions should not be considered a guarantee of future payments.
