Farm Credit of Western Arkansas Supports Young and Beginning Farmers
Farm Credit of Western Arkansas hosts the bi-annual Future Legacy Conference in Hot Springs to educate young and beginning farmers on business literacy, financial management and more from leading agriculture experts.
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark., February 16, 2026 – Farm Credit of Western Arkansas, a rural lending cooperative serving 41 counties, recently hosted young and beginning producers at its biennial Future Legacy Conference. Agriculture is Arkansas’s top industry and a cornerstone of the state’s economy. Supporting the next generation of farmers and the businesses they cultivate is vital to the industry’s continued growth. This conference is one of many ways Farm Credit advances that mission.
“In the first decade, farmers learn a lot of valuable lessons and lay the foundation for their operations’ future growth,” said Brandon Haberer, Farm Credit President and CEO. “Through the Future Legacy Conference, we can come alongside tomorrow’s agricultural leaders and help set them up for long-term success.”
Every two years, 48 farmers from across the state gather to learn about financial management, business literacy and more from leading agriculture experts. At the conference, attendees can also create a support network they can turn to for advice as needed. The conference is tailored to the needs of beginning and young farmers, defined for the purposes of this event as individuals under the age of 40 or producers who have been operating for fewer than 10 years.
This year’s event was held on February 9-10, 2026, in Hot Springs at Oaklawn Casino and Hotel.
